Whatever you’re doing in Seattle tomorrow, attending the 59th Annual Maritime Day Luncheon aboard Carnival’s Spirit, or wandering the waterfront, be sure to keep one eye on Elliott Bay and you should see the proud sails of The Adventuress.
As befits a ship that’s been sailing undaunted for 97 years, The Adventuress, is still out in front of the pack in the month-long Partners in Preservation voting competition. In fact, in the final days of the race for historic preservation funding, she’s still leading Seattle Town Hall by a slim 1%.
Tomorrow, Sound Experience, the service organization that owns and operates Adventuress, will set all the ship’s sails in Elliott Bay between 11AM-1:30PM (weather permitting) to urge everyone to cast those last few votes for the schooner. The crew will also offer dockside tours from 2:30PM – 5:30PM at Argosy Cruises as a thank you to the thousands of Puget Sound area residents who have voted for Adventuress and helped to raise awareness of the need for historic preservation in our region.
The crew of Adventuress has done yeoman’s work getting the word out, and they’ve also had a lot of fun with the effort. Check out their Sound Experience blog for a series of revisionist Hollywood videos.
