A native of Washington State, I now flow with the tide on the east coast, aboard a Freedom sailboat called Sunshine.
With my husband, Tom, I left frozen New England just before Christmas 2013, and spent the winter sailing south along the Intracoastal Waterway. We fetched up in the historic village of Beaufort, South Carolina. It’s our home base while we work on the boat and take side trips to places we can’t reach by water.
My articles and essays have appeared in local, regional and national publications. Publisher’s Weekly kindly called one of my essays a “gem.” That gem, originally published in the Traveler’s Tales anthology, Sand In My Bra, is now available – in slightly different form – in Panic In Any Other Language, my ebook of essays about traveling in Italy.
