Whidbey’s Ferry House ended in a three way tie for fifth with Skansie Brothers Net Shed and Orting Soldiers Home. This should mean that Ferry House will get some funding, but how much is not clear.
The website says “The winner of the public vote is guaranteed to receive a grant. The remainder of the $1 million in available funding will be distributed among a yet to be determined number of projects by American Express, the National Trust for Historic Preservation and an advisory committee comprised of Seattle-Puget Sound area civic and preservation leaders taking into account the results of the public vote. The final grant decisions will be announced on June 15.”
Maybe that means there’s still hope that my favorite contender, the worthy Bowman Bay Kitchen Shelter, can still get a small slice of the funding pie.
Congratulations Sound Experience!
