Rob Schouten is best known on Whidbey Island, and around the world, as a visionary water colorist. Oblation is my favorite Rob image. Another is his Buddha of Compassion, an intricate work commissioned for the family of the Dalai Lama.
This week Rob branched out into a new art form. Inspired by copious quantities of free medium – six inches of snow in front of his house – he sculpted a Puget Sound icon, Snorca, which along with #SnOMG, #Snomageddon, #Snopocalypse and #Orca, is ripe to trend.
