Cox Conserves Hero Update
Jan Holmes, finalist for the Cox Conserves Hero award wrote to let me know that voting has opened.
Hello All:
The Cox Conserves KIRO TV Environmental Heros nominees videos are out and ready for you to view and vote. This is great exposure for Beach Watchers. I am flabbergasted to have been nominated (by someone who remains anonymous). There are five finalists. The winner gets $5,000.00 donated to his/her favorite cause (for me BW’s of course). But all of us are already winners. We all bring attention to great environmental work being done by volunteers, and the remaining four finalists get $2,550.00 donated to their organizations. http://www.coxconservesheroes.com/seattle-wa/finalists.aspx
Soooo.. check it out and cast your vote! The vote is via email, only one vote per person. I think the voting period is for one week. On October 17th (Sun) at 6:30 on Channel 7 there will be a special on TV featuring the five finalists.

I voted! Now it’s your turn. Head on over to Cox Conserves Heros and read about all the environmental heros. The short blurb about Jan doesn’t come close to doing her justice and I’m sure that’s true for the others as well. They’ve all done amazing things for the Puget Sound region.
PS – I know the secret of who nominated Jan, but I’ll never tell.
