I walked this land just after the roads were put in by the developer. At the time I was saddened that this gorgeous forest, and hilltop meadows with 360 degree views, were slated to become a gated community of private estates. But things have changed and now there’s a chance that the Land Trust can buy this property and keep it open for everyone – especially wildlife. Plus, because this parcel is mostly upland, keeping it as forest rather than roofs, driveways, lawns and exotic landscapes will be immensely beneficial for the watershed. If there’s a silver lining to the current economic climate, this could be it.
